Pr of antique Irish sterling silver Sugar Tongs Samuel Neville Dublin
A pair of antique Irish sterling silver sugar tongs including decoration with shell motifs by Samuel Neville, Dublin The date letter is indistinct however the remaining Hall Marks suggest a date from 1811-20. The tongs have been repaired (old repair) at the middle of the end of the curved section and reinforced with another piece of silver (refer to photo/s). This would have been an old repair, otherwise the tongs are in good order and of heavier gauge silver compared to similar English and Continental varieties.
