Bilston and Battersea Antique Trinket box Lay Hold on Time 18th C
An 18th C Bilston and Battersea Antique Enamel Trinket, Snuff or Patch box. The white/cream enamel lid hand decorated above a Bristol blue body with a plain white/cream interior and hinged bronzed mounts. The hand painted lid is embellished with fine border floral's and a central reserve with the hand painted script:
" Lay hold on TIME While your in your PRIME"
In good condition, a small enamel scratch and tiny nick to the base plus old glue remnants to mount edges. The base has two original ? - old paper labels still affixed. They have been left as found. The lid opens and closes well. A very nice example of early English antique enamels. Approx 4.5cm w at top lid tapering to 3cm at base with a height of 3.2cm
